Colleges & Universities
In their efforts to put real-world tools in students’ hands, educators have broad software needs and yet restricted budgets, along with the need for flexible licensing arrangements. PCI Geomatics understands these constraints and offers Education suites available with campus-wide site licensing or department-specific permanent licensing.
The Geomatica Education Suite provides integrated tools that are perfect for an Introduction to Remote Sensing course, or research involving image classification, image correction, data visualization, data translation, image processing, spatial analysis, radar analysis, hyperspectral analysis, atmospheric correction, modeling, scripting, and cartographic map production. Supplementary training course materials make it easy for professors to integrate Geomatica into their lesson plans.
Why a site license? Well, remote sensing isn’t just for geographers anymore: departments as diverse as biology and materials engineering are making use of remote sensing software and techniques. These licenses are attractive to educational sites that have a considerable number of users, offering a flexibility of payment plans, the ability to share costs over many departments, as well as technical support and upgrades for the duration of the agreement.
Alternatively, a permanent license might be a better fit for your needs and budget. Permanent licenses allow departments to choose the number of seats that are right their needs, include a year of technical support and upgrades. And of course, with a permanent license there is never any need to renew.

Research and Custom Development
Research drives the development of new remote sensing techniques, techniques that allow professionals in all other disciplines to get more from their satellite and aerial imagery. With increasing pressure to get results on tight budgets, researchers require geospatial software with a flexible modeling environment, useful prototyping tools, and the ability to connect with other systems via common, robust programming languages.
The PCI Geomatics Professional Software Development Kit (ProSDK) lets users include Geomatica software components in applications that they build or extend with the C++, Java, EASI, and Python programming languages. The ProSDK contains a development environment, components that access a wide variety of geospatial file formats, and a means for a third-party program to perform a variety of operations through Geomatica. The capabilities of the ProSDK are extended by the various ProPacks – component sets available from PCI Geomatics. Each ProPack contains objects that address specific geomatics application areas, including orthorectification, mosaicking, elevation extraction, data fusion, and enterprise database support.
To aid researchers and students in the discovery of new approaches, PCI Geomatics provides a deep, expandable library of image processing and analysis functions, along with a software development kit and structured image processing language for higher-level modeling. PCI’s solutions are geared for the automation of tedious tasks, leaving you free to focus on your research.
